CalTrans , Quick response asbestos removal from suspended telephone duct in Oakland, California.

APEX provided design assistance and removal of transit ductwork suspended from pedestrian bridge at an active highway. Due to heavy freeway traffic all work was performed at night.

Asbestos Pipe Removal Baseline @ Dawn Avenue, La Verne, CA

APEX removed, transported and disposed of a transite water main. It was determined that approximately 9500 linear feet of pipe was to be removed and disposed of properly. The material was divided into 20-foot sections. Each section was loaded into end dumps or rolloff bins and transported to the Azusa Sanitary Landfill (BFI) for disposal.

Lead Abatement

APEX mobilized the appropriate personnel and equipment to a state owned maintenance facility scheduled for demolition. The roof of the structure (approximately 4,000 square feet) had been covered by lead based paint and the removal was required prior to structure demolition in order to protect construction workers' health and safety. APEX secured the area and completed the appropriate action to remove the hazard from the site. Work met or exceeded Department of Health Services DHS and Cal OSHA guidelines.

Thermoplastic Removal

APEX removed more than six miles of lead based thermoplastic striping from a Los Angeles freeway. Work was completed in order to protect the paving and construction contractor from exposure to lead while performing restriping efforts. APEX removed, analyzed and properly disposed of the contaminate material in an efficient, cost effective style. All regulatory guidelines governing this work were met or exceeded. Following completion a letter of completion was issued by an APEX UH consultant stating the area was safe for work to resume.
