Quick-response investigative and
remediation service at a former service station site in Los Angeles,
California.
APEX investigated a site
contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbon impact following underground storage
tank removal. APEX secured the site, identified the type and extent of
contamination. Ten monitoring wells were drilled and hundreds of samples
taken as part of the site characterization. A pump test to determine aquifer
characteristics was performed as well, the contaminated waste water collected
during the pump test was treated on site using activated carbon and
discharged under an NPDES permit to the storm drain. A total of more than
100,000 gallons was treated and disposed of properly.
