Manufacturing facility interior in Burbank, California

APEX drilled two 4-inch diameter 105-foot deep stainless screen / PVC casing wells inside a facility with only eleven feet vertical clearance. Access to the area was through an 8-foot by 8-foot roll-up door. Penetrated also were twelve feet of 4-inch cobbles at approximately 70 feet deep.

Superfund Cleanup

At a Southern California military base, APEX has recently completed a project consisting of the following (1) multiple soil gas vapor probes, (2) monitoring wells (PVC and stainless steel), (3) soil vapor extraction wells, (4) continuous sampling using our new DPT system, and (5) air sparge wells. The most important aspect of this project was the quality of work and exceedingly fast track schedule. As APEX finished each SVE well, they were almost immediately piped into the remediation system. Sixty-two wells were completed in fifteen days, including well boxes. Some of the work called for APEX’s LAR to be placed inside of concrete vats using a 5-ton crane. The final section of the project included the development of all the monitoring wells, which APEX completed using its 3T Smeal Rig. The project was a complete success and we look forward to working for the respective clients again.

Local Refinery

APEX recently completed a well redevelopment and reconditioning project located at a Southern California refinery. This project consisted of both mechanical and chemical well rehabilitation techniques. The wells, installed approximately 10 years ago, are used to capture free product and have accumulated significant biological growth over time, consequently reducing well yields and hampering recovery operations. Using a proprietary combination of non-toxic bacteria fighting chemicals and manual surging, APEX teamed with this client to "debug" approximately two dozen wells installed at depths of up to 110 feet bsg. Due to the nature of the site, strict health and safety guidelines were followed. The work program was completed efficiently and ahead of schedule.

Railroad Development

At a seventy-acre site in Los Angeles, APEX completed 37 soil test borings and 36 two-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells at depths ranging from 25-35 feet. APEX constructed an estimated five to six wells per day, completing the project in a little more than one week. In addition to providing the standard materials necessary for this project, APEX constructed customized well monument covers to meet the client specification. Our client, who has since rewarded APEX with additional projects, appreciated our swift completion of this project.
